ECONOMIC DOWNTURN CAUSES STRESS IN THE WORKPLACE

Brisbane, Australia, 28 October 2008: Workers are being inundated with stress associated with the global credit crunch and an uncertain economy coupled with the pressures of working in a demanding workplace, according to Brisbane fitness expert, Angela Houseman.

“Now, more than ever before, the doom and gloom of the economy and the uncertainty that is associated with this, it is affecting the health of workers,” said body4u director and personal trainer Ms Houseman.

“If people don’t take control of their health and fitness, they will feel the pressure more than those who do, and ultimately this will lead to ill health.

“It’s important that people focus on having a healthy mind and body, to get through the next couple of years.”

Stress in the workplace is known to reduce productivity and directly affects the performance of the brain, a person’s concentration, memory and ability to learn.

“If you are stressed, do some exercise,” said Ms Houseman.

“Embark on a fitness program at your local gym or find a personal training centre that can tailor your fitness programmed to your individual needs.

“Use fitness as a way to take your mind off mortgage repayments, uncertainty in the workforce, paying off your car, the falling Australian dollar – and you will see a real difference.”

body4u is a personalized fitness centre that tailors health and fitness programmes to individuals rather than using a one size fits all approach.

In the past 12 months, people have been flocking to the centre to help with the stresses of everyday life.

“It’s amazing how many people are not just coming in to lose weight, but are there for a more holistic approach to health and fitness.

“body4u has never focused on the mass market, building a fitness centre that accommodates the needs of individuals who like privacy and want a real outcome, not just a social outing or to be body beautiful.”
